23 Feb: Best Buy Tops Barron’s List of 100 Most Sustainable Companies

Best Buy is proud to rank No. 1 on Barron’s prestigious list of 100 Most Sustainable Companies for the second time.

We previously achieved this honor in 2019 and have now placed in the top five for four straight years. We ranked No. 5 last year.

This recognizes our company’s leadership across a comprehensive range of areas, from workplace diversity to carbon reduction. We aim to be a good corporate citizen in our interactions with all stakeholders, including employees, customers, vendors, our communities and the environment.

Best Buy has once again been named to Fortune’s list of the World’s Most Admired Companies.

This prestigious list recognizes companies that are leaders across a variety of performance and reputation metrics. Best Buy was recognized within the category of specialty retailers.

Our placement on this list is a testament to the work done by employees every day to use their expertise and passion to serve our customers, bringing to life our purpose to enrich lives through technology.

We also made the list last year.

28 Jan: Best Buy Named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality for 16th Year

For the 16th year, Best Buy has achieved a 100% rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC’s) Corporate Equality Index, earning the distinction of being a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

We are proud of this meaningful recognition, which reflects our continued, long-term commitment to workplace equality.

“We want everyone to feel safe, valued, and supported in being authentically themselves,” said Mark Irvin, Best Buy’s chief inclusion, diversity and talent officer. “Being named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality highlights that we are acting in line with our values of being a place where everyone can see themselves in the story.”

24 Nov: Best Buy ranks high on list of Most Admired Companies for HR

Best Buy is pleased to rank No. 10 on Human Resource Executive magazine’s list of the Most Admired Companies for HR 2020.

The list is composed of 52 companies that are considered the best of the best at leading in workplace innovation. Human Resource Executive and research partner Korn Ferry use data collected for the Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companieslist and recalibrate it to focus on four criteria that have a strong connection to HR: management quality, product/service quality, innovation and people management.   

Since last year, our ratings improved across all four attributes, moving us to the top spot among specialty retailers on each of them.

14 Oct: Best Buy Lands in Top 25 of Prestigious JUST 100 List

Best Buy is proud to be named to the 2021 JUST 100 list, which recognizes companies for doing right by all stakeholders.

This is our first time on the prestigious list. We climbed more than 200 spots to earn the No. 25 ranking.

“Our company’s purpose is to enrich lives through technology, and to bring this to life we know our employees need to feel supported and empowered, especially given the challenges we have all faced this year,” Best Buy CEO Corie Barry said.

14 Jul: Best Buy Recognized As One Of Best Companies For Women To Advance

Best Buy is proud to be named to the list of Best Companies for Women to Advance 2020, a new list from Parity.org that recognizes companies that have made significant commitments to the advancement of women.

We were one of only 35 companies that made the list, including just 11 large companies (5,000 or more employees).

“We are determined to be an inclusive and diverse company, not just because it’s good business sense but because it’s our fundamental obligation as leaders and as human beings,” said Kamy Scarlett, Best Buy chief human resources officer.

16 Jun: Best Buy Rises On List Of 100 Best Corporate Citizens

Best Buy is proud to rank No. 46 on the 2020 list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens, moving up 21 spots from last year.

This list recognizes outstanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) transparency and performance among the 1,000 largest public companies in the U.S. Our ranking places us in the top 5% of all companies evaluated, and we ranked second in the retail category.

ISS ESG, the responsible investing research arm of Institutional Shareholder Services, compiled the list.

14 Nov: Hubert Joly Links Business Purpose, Corporate Responsibility at BSR

A company’s ultimate purpose is to serve the common good, Best Buy Executive Chairman Hubert Joly said Wednesday at the annual conference of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR).

“The purpose of a company is not to make money,” he said. “It is to serve all of the stakeholders, including customers, employees, partners, vendors, the communities in which we operate, the environment and shareholders. The idea is that there is no trade-off, no need to choose between the various stakeholders.”

Hubert noted that businesses “do well by doing good” and that a company’s sustainability efforts are most impactful when they are connected to its business purpose and overall success.

07 Oct: Best Buy joins with 140 businesses to support DACA recipients

Best Buy has joined with more than 140 business leaders and trade associations in signing a “friend of the court” brief with the U.S. Supreme Court to show our continued support for “Dreamers.” That’s the nickname for the approximately 800,000 undocumented young adults who are allowed to live and work in the United States under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The brief emphasizes that Dreamers are employees, business owners and neighbors who make a significant positive impact on American companies, communities and the economy.

19 Aug: Best Buy is Proud to be Named to Fortune’s Change the World List

Best Buy is honored to be named to Fortune’s Change the World list, which recognizes companies for using their business strategy and operations to make a positive social or environmental impact. We ranked No. 32 out of 52 on the list and are one of three retail companies.

We were recognized for our leadership role in helping customers live more sustainably. Best Buy offers customers electronics and appliances that save energy and money, keeps electronics in the “use” phase longer through repair and trade-in services, and recycles electronics and appliances.

19 Jul: Best Buy Makes Indeed’s List of Top-Rated Workplaces

Employees at businesses across the U.S. have weighed in, and Best Buy is proud to have earned a spot for the first time on Indeed’s annual list of the 50 Top-Rated Workplaces.

We landed at No. 39 and are third among retail companies. Best Buy ranked ninth on Indeed’s retail-only list in 2018.

Indeed is the largest job site in the world, where millions of job seekers search for jobs, post resumes and research companies. The 50 Top-Rated Workplaces list evaluates the overall employee experience and is based on more than 150 million employee ratings and reviews between June 2017 and 2019.
