03 May: Best Buy ranked No. 1 big-box retailer for COVID-19 safety

Best Buy has ranked as the top big-box retailer in a national assessment of brands’ safety response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ipsos, a leading market research firm, compiled its Consumer Health & Safety Index based on results from shoppers at 3,500 individual locations and a survey of 2,000 people. It evaluated which health and safety attributes are most important to customers and how brands are performing compared to consumer expectations.

Best Buy led big-box retailers in several categories, including social distancing measures, sanitizer offerings and employees wearing masks and gloves.

For the second year in a row, Forbes has ranked Best Buy as the No. 65 company on its list of America’s Best Employers for Diversity.

07 Apr: Geek Squad Agent rescues mother, daughter in rollover crash

Geek Squad Agent Andrew Ward was driving down an icy Kansas highway in February when the car in front of him was clipped by another vehicle and flipped over. It landed with its wheels in the air and roof caved into the concrete.

His heart thumping, Andrew, who was on his way to help with a refrigerator installation, pulled over.

“My first instinct was to jump out and help. No matter who it was,” he said. “This could be anybody. It could have been my wife or my neighbor.”
