The countdown is on! One of the biggest weeks in gaming is right around the corner, with Microsoft and Sony both releasing their much-anticipated new gaming consoles just in time for the holiday season.
Xbox Series X and S arrive on Nov. 10 and PlayStation 5 arrives on Nov. 12.
Here’s everything you need to know about getting your hands on a new console this year.
Haven’t pre-ordered yet? Don’t worry
If you haven’t pre-ordered a new console yet, you still might be able to get your hands on one — but only on BestBuy.com. While our stores won’t have devices for purchase on launch day or throughout the holiday season, keep an eye on BestBuy.com, where they’ll be available for purchase as soon as we have them available. (This means there’s no need to camp out at your local store, just check back on BestBuy.com without leaving home!)
And ordering online still lets you get your new console however you want — whether that’s through store pickup or contactless curbside.
Picking up your pre-order
If you pre-ordered one of the new consoles and selected store pickup, you can pick it up from your local store on launch day when stores open early at 9 a.m. local time, or at your confirmed appointment time.
Don’t forget to bring your ID and a confirmation email or code with you.
And when you’re visiting our stores, don’t forget we have new guidelines in place to keep both you and our employees safe. This includes:
- All customers and employees are required to wear face coverings. We will supply a face covering if you don’t have one.
- Each store has a dedicated customer experience host at the front of the store to help direct customers, answers questions and manage any lines.
- Our employees are following multiple safety guidelines, including daily wellness checks, personal protective equipment and regular cleaning of high-touch areas.
- Stores are following all local safety guidelines and limiting the number of customers inside stores at a given time to allow for the CDC-recommended social distancing guidelines.
