Vegas Couple Camps Out At Best Buy To ‘Bless Someone Else’

Barbra and Bruce Reeves have been waiting in line at their local Best Buy store in Las Vegas for almost a week, anxious to score a doorbuster deal.

This isn’t the first time they’ve camped out for Black Friday deals, but this year is different. They’re not shopping for themselves.

The Reeves plan to buy a laptop for a woman who shot the photographs at their son’s wedding. Someone recently broke into her car and stole her laptop and camera.

The woman, an aspiring musician, was planning to sell her instruments to replace the electronics. But the Reeves gave her a replacement camera, and now they’re going to surprise her with the laptop.

“We’ve been blessed, and we’d like to reach out and bless someone else,” Barbra said. “I’d like to think someone would help me if I was in need.”

The Reeves also plan to buy a Ring video doorbell for themselves.

An annual tradition

Camping out for Black Friday has been a tradition for the Reeves for almost 25 years. Last year, they bought a new stand mixer and a Ninja coffee maker.

“I always come to the same store,” Barbra said. “I know the employees. It feels like family.”

Barbra stays at the store all day and goes for walks to pass the time. Bruce joins her after work, and others hold their place in line while they go to dinner at nearby restaurants.

They sleep in a small tent on a foam mattress, with a sleeping bag, a quilt and some blankets. And they have four camping chairs to sit on outside.

“We’ve got a nice little setup,” Barbra said.
