Samsung has announced the arrival of its newest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note8. And if you want to be among the first to get it, you can order it from Best Buy starting Thursday, Aug. 24.
Customers ordering Samsung’s latest smartphone on a Verizon, AT&T or Sprint plan can save up to $150 at Best Buy.
For those who don’t want to be tied to a carrier, the unlocked version of the Galaxy Note8 is also available for order now, and 24-month financing is available exclusively for customers using their My Best Buy Credit Card.
And there’s more. For a limited time, anyone who orders their new phone will get the choice of a free Gear 360 camera or a free 128-gigabyte memory card with a fast wireless charging pad1.
Samsung Galaxy Note8 features
Like all previous Note devices, the Galaxy Note8 will have all the features Note customers have grown to love, including a large screen, and enhanced S Pen stylus and a powerful camera.
The Galaxy Note8 has the biggest screen ever on a Note device, while still fitting comfortably in one hand. The 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display lets you see more and scroll less, making it great for multitasking.
Then there’s the camera. It’s the first smartphone with two 12-megapixel rear cameras with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS on both the wide-angle lens and telephoto lenses. That means both rear cameras work together to layer two shots on top of each other, creating better pictures than ever before.
And if you really want to get fancy, the Note8 lets you control the strength of blur by allowing you to adjust the bokeh effect even after you take the photo. (For you non-photography aficionados, the bokeh effect has to do with playing around with that “background blur” you often see in photos.)
Of course, the Galaxy Note8 is a smartphone, which means you can actually make calls, but it also means you can send messages—in your own handwriting, if you want. With animation. And special effects. Mind blown, right?
There are plenty of other enhancements from previous devices, including water resistance (you can even write when the display is wet), fast wireless charging, improved security options and plenty of power. The Galaxy Note8’s battery has also undergone Samsung’s 8-Point Battery Safety Check process.
The Galaxy Note8 is compatible with the new Gear VR with Controller, which will also be available for pre-order starting Aug. 24 for $129.99 at Best Buy and BestBuy.com, and will go on sale starting Sept. 15. And don’t forget, you can find the latest accessories to protect and power the Note8 in all of our stores and on BestBuy.com.
