We’re proud to announce Best Buy has been named to the 2019 Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index. We’re one of 80 companies to be honored and one of only two retailers.
The Inclusion Index recognizes our company’s efforts and commitment in the following three focus areas:
- Fostering diversity and inclusion in recruitment, retention and advancement;
- Promoting a company culture that values diversity and inclusion; and
- Sharing specific demographic data and progress made in hiring, retaining and promoting women, people of color and other minority groups.
“Creating a culture of inclusion has been a focus of Best Buy for many years,” said Howard Rankin, our chief diversity and inclusion officer. “While we still have work to do, we’re thrilled to be recognized for our efforts thus far.”
The Inclusion Index helps us benchmark our practices among other organizations and understand gaps in our diversity representation. We use the learnings to drive change in our organization to become an even more inclusive company.
We were also recently named to the 2019 DiversityInc Noteworthy list, which recognizes the nation’s top companies that excel in hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBTQ and veterans.
