Best Buy has ranked as the top big-box retailer in a national assessment of brands’ safety response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ipsos, a leading market research firm, compiled its Consumer Health & Safety Index based on results from shoppers at 3,500 individual locations and a survey of 2,000 people. It evaluated which health and safety attributes are most important to customers and how brands are performing compared to consumer expectations.
Best Buy led big-box retailers in several categories, including social distancing measures, sanitizer offerings and employees wearing masks and gloves. Our Best in Industry ranking demonstrates our commitment to the safety of our frontline employees — all while striving to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Additionally, we joined three other companies as Best Overall Brand winners for our end-to-end customer journey, setting us apart from the other 24 participants.
Our top priority throughout this pandemic has been the safety of our employees and customers. In fact, 97% of customers surveyed said we made them feel safe while they shopped in our stores.
Last month, we announced a COVID-19 testing program for frontline employees. And early on we established employee health screening, enhanced cleaning protocols and social distancing signage. We also added hosts at the entrance of every store to provide COVID-19 instructions to shoppers.
We’re proud to be recognized for our commitment to creating a safe in-store experience for customers and employees.
