It’s been a fun, fast-paced and productive summer for Best Buy’s 2025 class of interns.
These 79 students came to Best Buy from 15 states and 38 different colleges and universities. Since kicking off the 10-week program in June, they’ve been busy contributing to real projects for their teams, growing their networks and attending professional development events.
“Interns contribute to valuable work across the company, and they bring new perspectives and energy,” said Theresa, a program lead on the Early Careers team that manages our intern program. “We’re so grateful for the interns, their managers and our partners for making our summer internship program so wonderful!”
We talked to the interns to hear firsthand about their experiences.
Supportive culture
From Day One, interns like Angelia found themselves immersed in a culture of growth and support. She has spent more than 18 years in retail at Best Buy and joined our Employee Relations team for the summer.
“My experience has been phenomenal,” she said. “I have had nothing but upfront and honest communication. I was given the room to explore and hit the ground running on my project right away.”
Isabelle, an intern on our External Brands Product Development team, felt supported by a development session on imposter syndrome.
“I definitely faced that because this is my first internship. I was like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t know anything. I’m so behind,’” she said. “Knowing that other people deal with that too—it’s not just you, and that’s a completely normal feeling.”
Strong connections
Gary and Kellen both joined our Enterprise Risk and Compliance team for the summer, and they became fast friends starting at the initial orientation.
“We’ll bounce ideas off each other. We’ve gotten really tight,” said Kellen. “I did not expect the corporate environment to be like this. Our team is very lighthearted, and we joke around.”
Sean, an intern on our Category Management team, found a strong support system in his fellow interns and our Early Careers team.
“It’s really nice being able to make friends with them and being able to experience things with everyone,” he said. “They set us up for success and provide various opportunities for development. They make me feel cared for as human beings.”
Valuable experience
Most importantly, these internships are giving the students opportunities to do meaningful work and gain the experience they need to kickstart a career.
“I really just enjoy being with this company and having an opportunity like this to show and translate everything I’ve been doing in school, to see it in the real-life, real-world applications,” Gary said.
Kayla, a Software Engineering intern, agrees.
“One of my main goals was to have a tangible project and learn new things,” she said. “I was able to do a full-stack development project, and now I get to say, ‘This is what I made.’”
