Best Buy has landed a top spot on the annual Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, achieving a perfect rating of 100 and earning the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality for the 12th year. Released annually, the index benchmarks and reports on how corporate policies and practices are helping to achieve LGBT workplace equality. The index now includes U.S. and Mexico businesses.
This latest recognition further affirms Best Buy’s support for LGBT equality and commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive employee base, which are fundamental to the company’s own success.
“Our goal is to celebrate all of our employees, tap into their unique talents, experiences, beliefs and backgrounds and to create an engaging work environment, a world-class operation and a company that reflects the diversity of all communities,” said Paula Baker, Chief Human Resources Officer at Best Buy. “We do this by working to attract and invest in top talent, and fostering an inclusive culture.”
Earlier this year, Best Buy joined with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to support the Equality Act, federal legislation that would expand legal protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.
