Summer is just heating up, but it’s already time to start to thinking about heading back to school.
Best Buy is teaming up with DonorsChoose.org this back-to-school-season to help underserved schools receive much-needed technology for their classrooms. We know that youth from underserved communities often lack access to technology at home, and that goes for schools in those communities, too. Learning how to use technology is essential to preparing the next generation of talented people our country needs to compete in the global economy.
Through DonorsChoose.org, customers who purchase from BestBuy.com from July 9 to Sept. 9, 2017, will be given the opportunity to donate to schools in need who have requested technology equipment such as laptops, tablets and smart boards.
DonorsChoose.org is a nonprofit organization that empowers public school teachers from across the country to request the resources and experiences their students need. Since its founding by a Bronx history teacher in 2000, DonorsChoose.org has fulfilled more than 900,000 project requests, reaching more than 22 million students.
Best Buy’s partnership with DonorsChoose.org builds on our commitment to help underserved teens experience the benefits of technology to build their skills and prepare for future careers.
