Since Best Buy began participating in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign eight years ago, we have proven that when a community comes together, amazing things can happen.
The St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign is back at Best Buy, and starting Oct. 12, we are asking our employees and customers to come together once again to fight childhood cancer.
We are inviting customers to donate at the registers in every Best Buy store, online at BestBuy.com and during in-home service visits. And new this year, employees who contribute to the campaign will also get an exclusive t-shirt from St. Jude that features a QR code, making it easier for customers to donate, even if they are using curbside pickup.
“I am incredibly proud of our partnership with St. Jude,” said Ray Sliva, Best Buy’s president of retail. “It’s amazing to see our employees across the country unite to support this important and truly lifesaving mission, and I am grateful for the generosity demonstrated by our customers year after year.”
Every donation counts
Over the last seven years, Best Buy stores and their communities have embraced St. Jude’s mission and helped the organization in its efforts to provide treatment for children across the country and around the world. Every dollar donated during the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign helps make sure families at St. Jude never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food, so all they have to worry about is being there for their child.
Last year, we celebrated a record-breaking year for giving, with customers and employees donating more than $22.5 million during the holiday season — the most money brought in by a single partner in a given year. We also hit another major milestone, topping $100 million in total donations gathered for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® since 2013.
With the help of our employees and customers, we can help change the lives of countless children and families.
