By Best Buy November 8, 2012 MINNEAPOLIS, November 8, 2012 – Thousands of care packages to be shipped overseas for the holiday season WHO: As part of Best Buy’s continued support for the military, Best Buy employees at the Best Buy headquarters in Richfield, Minnesota will observe Veteran’s Day early by packing up more than 3500 holiday gifts for the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. WHAT: The Best Buy program, Operation Patriotic Endeavor, was created in 2011 by members of Best Buy’s Military Employee Business Network as another way for employees to give back to the troops. Employee volunteers will be assembling care packages with technology accessories, such as flash drives, DVD’s, Xbox games, personalized thank-you notes and pictures and letters from children. Once assembled, the pallets of gift bags will be loaded onto a Best Buy truck which has been specially wrapped with Holiday Express for the Troops artwork. The truck will be driven cross country to Operation Gratitude, a non-profit agency headquartered in San Diego, who will manage the overseas shipping. The truck will make stops at Best Buy stores along the route to give Best Buy employees and customers the opportunity to add personal notes of thanks to the troops. These personal cards will be included with the holiday shipment. WHEN: Friday, November 9, 2012 from 8:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M.
