Best Buy is proud to announce our national ad campaign featuring Best Buy Teen Tech Centers™ was selected as the Best Social Impact Video in the 2023 Halo Awards from Engage for Good.
The Halo Awards recognize corporate social impact initiatives that show outstanding customer or employee engagement efforts.
The “Mentor Moments” campaign launched last year with three short films featuring real teen/mentor pairs from three Teen Tech Centers. Director Rodney Lucas, story producer Bridget Botchway Bradley and photographer Akilah Townsend worked closely with the teens and adults to highlight the importance of positive mentoring relationships in helping teens achieve their dreams.
In addition to the teens featured on camera, Teen Tech Center members from each of the locations were hired on as production assistants.
“It’s an honor to have the ‘Mentor Moments’ campaign recognized by the Halo Awards,” said Andrea Wood, Best Buy’s vice president of social impact. “This award is an incredible testament to the power of mentorship, as well as how hands-on, experiential learning opportunities like this can help teens discover career opportunities and go after their passions.”
The campaign, which was done in partnership with Best Buy Creative, ran throughout May on national TV and on Best Buy social media channels throughout the summer.
