Best Buy is proud to be recognized by CDP for our climate management strategies and carbon emission reduction.
Our 2016 A- score demonstrates an ongoing commitment to reducing emissions in our operations and sourcing renewable energy, as well as helping our customers lead more sustainable lives. We are among the highest scoring U.S. retailers.
Best Buy has been working to reduce carbon emissions since setting our first carbon goal in 2009. After exceeding our 20 percent reduction goal in 2014, we set a new goal to reduce carbon emissions by 45 percent by 2020.
We believe that effectively managing our environmental impacts, setting science-based goals and advancing energy-efficient consumer solutions creates long-term value for all of our stakeholders.
CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) is a global nonprofit that drives action toward a more sustainable world, and its reporting is done on behalf of 827 investors with more than $1 trillion in assets. Best Buy was benchmarked against over 2,400 other companies that responded to CDP’s 2016 climate change information request.
