Best Buy is Top Retailer in Newsweek’s U.S. Green Rankings

Best Buy has landed at No. 6 on Newsweek’s 2017 Green Rankings list of the 500 largest publicly traded U.S. companies.

Up 21 spots from last year, Best Buy is the top-ranked retailer.

The Newsweek Green Rankings represent the companies that are generating the most revenue with the least amount of environmental impact. Corporate Knights, in partnership with Newsweek, analyzes eight main factors, including carbon, energy, water, waste and the extent to which internal governance is geared toward sustainability.

Best Buy has continued to climb the Green Rankings by lessening our environmental impacts. For example, we recently set a new goal to reduce our carbon emissions by 60 percent (over a 2009 baseline).

The Newsweek Green Rankings is one of the most recognizable environmental accolades. Consumers, investors, government entities and leading non-governmental organizations look to this list as a mark of leadership in sustainability. Click here to see the full list.

Last week, we were also awarded a spot on the CDP Climate A List, earning recognition as a global leader in addressing climate change.
