10 Apr: Music Brings Family Together In Time Of Social Distancing

Robert Berry knows how to carry a tune.

After all, he grew up in a musical household. His mom was a classically trained concert pianist, his father was a Baptist preacher with a booming baritone vocalist, and he and his nine siblings all sang in the church choir. But that was years ago.

“We literally had not taken the time to sing together since our father’s funeral in 2008,” said Robert, who is a risk and compliance manager at Best Buy.

Like many of us, Robert wanted a way to connect with others amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

22 Mar: Here’s How Curbside Pickup Works At Best Buy To Get Your Tech Essentials

We know our customers depend on Best Buy for the technology necessities valuable during this time when people need to stay home because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. That’s why we’re adapting to a new way of making our stores accessible while keeping things safe for our customers and employees: contactless curbside pickup.

As of Sunday, March 22, customers are no longer allowed inside Best Buy stores. Our employees, however, will bring products ordered on BestBuy.com, through our app or over the phone, out to vehicles.

19 Mar: A Note From Best Buy CEO Corie Barry

Earlier this week, we announced changes to how Best Buy will run our business in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Against this backdrop, I wanted to share some of my thoughts about what we’re facing and how Best Buy is responding.

Right now, our role as a consumer electronics retailer is rapidly shifting and we are striving to make the best decisions with two goals in mind: The first is to protect our customers, employees and their families. The second is to do the best we can to serve the millions of Americans who are looking to us for increasingly vital technology tools to stay connected, as well as household necessities.

07 Mar: Best Buy Highlights Disproportionate Number Of Women In STEM

March is Women’s History Month — a time to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women everywhere.

It’s also a time you’ll hear calls for accelerating women’s equality. For example, women make up 50% of the U.S. population but hold just 28% of science, technology, engineer and math (STEM) careers.

This month, Best Buy is doing an awareness campaign using videos, employee stories and events to dive deeper into the disparity.

“Women and girls deserve the same opportunities as their male counterparts,” said Best Buy CEO Corie Barry.
