Join Best Buy in Supporting St. Jude Families

When cancer strikes a family, life instantly turns upside down. Parents will stop at nothing to save their children’s lives. But, too often, that care comes at a cost: stress caused by time away from home and work, loss of income and mounting healthcare bills. That’s where St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is different.

St. Jude wants families to worry only about helping their children live, and that’s why Best Buy participates in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign. Every dollar given in our stores and online helps ensure families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food – and that their children receive the very best care.

Donations to St. Jude also help researchers and scientists find and apply the latest breakthroughs and advances in the fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases. And, St. Jude freely shares its findings with scientists and doctors treating patients around the world.

Last year, Best Buy customers generously gave $18.2 million during the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign, making ours the most successful among all national retailers. We hope to raise even more this year.

“Our customers are incredibly generous and have demonstrated every year that St. Jude is an organization they want to support,” said Best Buy SVP and Territory General Manager Ray Sliva. “I am grateful to be a part of a company that is dedicated to helping St. Jude save lives and relieve the stress families experience while their children are in their care.”

Through Jan. 27, 2018, Best Buy invites customers to donate $1, $5, $10 or any other amount while shopping in any one of our nearly 1,400 U.S. stores, as well as at Magnolia, Pacific Sales and BestBuy.com.

“It is powerful to see our friends at Best Buy rally their employees and customers to help transform the holiday season into a time of giving back by giving to St. Jude and helping children everywhere,” said Richard Shadyac Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “We are incredibly grateful for their generosity, which enables our doctors and scientists to continue to pursue lifesaving research and treatments while allowing us to keep our founding promise that no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.”
