21 Dec: How Best Buy is being recognized for doing a world of good

Best Buy has been recognized with awards that highlight our efforts to promote inclusion and diversity and help build brighter futures through tech across the country.  

This recognition comes to life through a variety of initiatives, including hiring more BIPOC and women employees, creating more opportunities and post-secondary support for youth, continuing to cultivate an inclusive culture for our communities, and more. We’re proud of the recognition. We also know we have a lot more progress to make to get to where we want to be.

07 Dec: Best Buy makes Newsweek’s 2023 Most Responsible Companies list

Best Buy is proud to be named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Most Responsible Companies for the fourth year in a row.

Newsweek compiles this list in partnership with Statista to recognize the 500 most responsible companies in the U.S. across 14 industries. It’s based on publicly available environmental, social and governance data and an independent survey of U.S. residents.

Our individual environmental score was also 92.50, making us the top retailer in that category. We earned an overall score of 76.90 out of 100, ranking No.

Forbes’ Best Employers for Veterans 2022

09 Nov: Best Buy makes Forbes’ Best Employers for Veterans 2022 list

We’re excited to announce that Best Buy was named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers for Veterans 2022. This is our first time on the list.  

Forbes surveyed 7,000 U.S. veteran employees. Participants were asked to rate their employer on career development, diversity, and topics specific to veterans in the workplace, such as recruitment processes and pipelines. Companies were also evaluated on veteran representation in leadership roles and philanthropic efforts geared toward veterans.

Forbes magazine has recognized Best Buy as one of America’s Best Employers for New Graduates for 2022. It’s the fourth year in a row we’ve made the list, which identifies companies young professionals would most highly recommend to family and friends. Employers are ranked based on criteria such as their workplace experience, career opportunities and the values and purpose of the company.

Starting a new job after completing college is a big deal, and Kyle Tekautz is one of many recent grads kicking off their professional lives at Best Buy.

03 May: Best Buy named to Forbes’ 2022 Best Employers for Diversity list

Best Buy is proud to be included on the 2022 Forbes list of Best Employers for Diversity as one of the top four retailers on the list. It’s our third consecutive year making the rankings that recognize leadership and commitment toward building a more inclusive workplace.

We were named to this list based on results from a survey of 60,000 people who ranked their employers on topics such as age, gender and LGBTQIA+ equality. Companies were also evaluated on diversity among top executives and board members.

19 Nov: Best Buy named one of the World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies

Best Buy is proud to be included on Forbes’ inaugural ranking of the World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies, a list that identifies companies that are leading the way on supporting women inside and outside their workforces.

We ranked among the top third of the 300 companies on the list. And we’re one of only 20 companies on the list with a woman CEO.

Forbes teamed up with market research company Statista to survey 85,000 women in 40 countries. Respondents were asked to rate their employers on criteria such as pay equity, parental leave and opportunities for advancement.


12 Oct: Forbes names Best Buy to 2021 World’s Best Employers list

We’re excited to announce that Best Buy today was named to Forbes magazine’s list of the World’s Best Employers.  

We were selected based on employee survey results, helping us gain a spot among 750 companies from across the globe. It’s the second time Best Buy has received this recognition. 

Forbes surveyed 150,000 workers in 58 countries to create the list. Participants were asked to rate their own employer, as well as others in their industry. The survey considered every aspect of an employee’s experience, such as working conditions, salary, diversity and potential for growth. 


20 Aug: 3 reasons Best Buy is consumers’ top-ranked appliance retailer

For the fifth straight year, we’ve received J.D. Power’s award for highest customer satisfaction among appliance retailers. We’re proud of the work our teams have done to create a great shopping experience, from researching and picking out products to having them delivered and installed. 

We ranked No. 1 in four of the key areas considered as part of J.D. Power’s 2021 Appliance Satisfaction Study. The results are based on 21,477 evaluations from customers who had purchased home appliances during the past 12 months.

For the third straight year, Best Buy has been named to Forbes magazine’s list of America’s Best Employers for Women.

The ranking is based on an independent survey that asked respondents to rate their employers and peer companies based on topics such as development, salary, benefits, diversity and the likelihood of recommending their employer.

At Best Buy, we are committed to gender equity. We were recently named one of’s Best Companies for Women to Advance, and we were included in Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index.


22 Jun: names Best Buy one of ‘Best Companies for Women to Advance’

For the second straight year, has named Best Buy to its list of Best Companies for Women to Advance.

The list recognizes 34 companies that have implemented exemplary benefits, policies and programs that ensure women have significant opportunities to advance their careers. Only 11 large companies made the 2021 list, based on a rating that considered recruitment, benefits, executive preparation, measurement and overall representation.
