27 May: Best Buy Health’s Lively emergency services now available on Alexa-enabled devices

Best Buy Health is making it easier to live safely and independently in your home with the availability to access Lively Urgent Response through compatible Alexa-enabled devices. This new capability provides users 24/7 support from a caring Lively Urgent Response Agent.

Starting now, customers can link their Lively and Alexa accounts together, giving them access to the Lively Urgent Response services with a simple voice command. Lively Urgent Response can be reached on a number of Alexa-enabled devices in the home, including Echo, Echo Show, Echo Dot, Fire TV Cube and Fire Tablet (when Show Mode is enabled).

Best Buy Health today introduced Lively Smart, its simplest smartphone yet. It’s designed to make it easier than ever for older adults to access the phone features they care most about, including one-touch access to Lively Health and Safety Services.

Lively Smart’s large 6.2-inch screen is designed for ease of use from the moment it’s turned on, helping users feel safe, healthy and connected to loved ones. The home screen features large, legible text and organizes key features into a single list, including the ability to get help in urgent and non-urgent situations, video chat, take photos and get directions.

Best Buy Health is helping to make it easier for older adults to stay safe, healthy and connected by offering a full array of health and safety services available on Apple Watch.

At home or on the go, Apple Watch users with the Lively app can get assistance from highly trained Lively Urgent Response Agents to get help in emergency and non-emergency situations. Agents can assist with everything from medical emergencies to sending help if a user has car trouble.

Plus, with the Live Agent Assist feature (coming soon), when Apple Watch detects a hard fall, Lively Agents will provide an extra layer of protection by calling users to make sure they’re OK and contacting family members if needed. Best

Herb Williams sits down at his piano, looks at the camera and starts to play. His fingers bound across the keys with a familiarity only eight decades can bring, then the 91-year-old posts the video on Facebook.

He’s repeated this scene nearly every day since COVID-19 sequestered people in their homes last spring. And he learned the skills from two Best Buy Canada Geek Squad Agents — as part of Best Buy Health’s Digital Citizen service.

Agents Rachel Sturm and Chadd Sine began teaching digital literacy skills to seniors a year and a half ago through a partnership that brings technology workshops and support to seniors at select Amica Senior Lifestyles residences in Canada.
