19 Mar: Best Buy named top retail website in Mexico

Best Buy Mexico took first place in the retail category at the eCommerce Awards Mexico 2019, the country’s highest recognition for online companies.

The awards were presented by the eCommerce Institute and the Mexican Online Sales Association as part of eRetail Day Mexico on March 7. A jury of international experts chose the winners.

“We are so proud to receive this prestigious award,” said Fernando Silva, president of Best Buy Mexico. “It’s a great testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams to create a world-class, multichannel customer experience.”

Sometimes you need that item that you bought on BestBuy.com today. You don’t have two days to wait for it to be delivered. And you don’t have time to get to a store.

Good news: Over the next few months, we’re tripling the number of metro areas where customers can get same-day delivery on BestBuy.com orders. In addition, we’ve expanded the number of products eligible for this service. Oh, and it will cost less.

“We have always wanted to help our customers get their purchases from Best Buy how and when they want them,” said Allison Peterson, president of BestBuy.com.

For years, Best Buy has been making significant e-commerce investments to enhance the shopping experience through the use of digital technology.

The business term is multi-channel retailing, which means we’re trying to make it more convenient to shop for products and services whenever and wherever you want. So you have the option to shop online from your couch, research online and pick up at a store, or drop in to a store and browse the aisles. After all, very few customers are exclusively online shoppers, and very few never buy online.

29 Oct: Best Buy Unveils Seattle Technology Development Center

State and local officials joined Best Buy in celebrating the grand opening of the company’s new technology development center in Seattle on Thursday.

The office, first announced in February, is focused on mobile development, cloud engineering and the omnichannel customer experience. About 25 employees work there, and there’s room to grow to 100 employees over time.

Best Buy expects this office to drive breakthrough innovation at incredible scale, building on its rapid e-commerce growth in recent quarters.

18 Feb: Best Buy to Open Technology Development Center in Seattle

Best Buy, the world’s leading consumer electronics retailer, will accelerate and fuel its rapidly expanding e-commerce and mobile development capabilities by opening a technology development center in Seattle.

The development center will open in late spring 2015 in the booming, tech-centric South Lake Union area of Seattle and will focus on mobile development, private cloud and omnichannel-application development. It will employ more than 50 engineers, product managers, web architects and developers in the next year and is expected to expand to more than 100 e-commerce professionals over time.
