Best Buy is introducing Geek Squad Academy in a Box, the first-ever expansion of its longstanding Geek Squad Academy (GSA) program. GSA in a Box will offer year-round, one-day workshops that introduce young people to technology and teach skills such as 3D design, computer coding, AI literacy, robotics, photography and more.

GSA is a two-day camp during the summer in cities across the US. It first launched in 2007, and since then has given thousands of young people the ability to explore cutting-edge technology and learn new skills. Building on that model, GSA in a Box was created to make it easier to reach more young people right in their own communities. Its flexible design allows organizations, nonprofits, schools or local Best Buy stores to partner with employee volunteers to deliver hands‑on tech experiences anywhere and anytime throughout the year.

“We know what opens doors to opportunity is access to technology, supportive mentors and hands-on experiences where young people explore and learn new skills,” said Olivia Jefferson, vice president, social impact at Best Buy. “Through Geek Squad Academy in a Box, we are doing just that by connecting even more young people with creative and engaging workshops that help them build skills they can carry into their future careers.”
