The wait is almost over—the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 launch is this Thursday, June 5 and nearly all Best Buy stores will open at midnight for gamers who want to be among the first to get their hands on the hot new console. In addition to pre-order pickups at opening, Best Buy stores will also have a limited number of consoles, games and accessories available for walk-in customers.
Here’s everything you need to know before you go:
- On June 5, nearly all Best Buy stores in the U.S. will open at 12:01 a.m. ET for pre-order pickup and walk-in purchases. That means 11:01 p.m. CT, 10:01 p.m. MT and 9:01 p.m. PT.

Ready for the Nintendo Switch 2 late-night store opening event? Experience Switch 2 with GameTruck theaters
The excitement continues throughout the summer: we’re bringing GameTruck theaters to more than 100 Best Buy stores where fans can battle it out in games like Mario Kart World or experiment with the new features of the Switch 2.
Here’s what you need to know. Over 10 weeks, GameTruck theaters will make stops at Best Buy stores in 10 cities across the country. The fun starts this Saturday, June 7 with GameTruck theaters stopping in Torrance, CA, Kissimmee, FL, Kennesaw GA, Westbury, NY and Frisco, TX.
