Best Buy Community Grants Program Seeks Local Nonprofits Serving Teens

Best Buy is committed to providing underserved youth access to tech education and the tools necessary to be successful in their future careers. Part of this commitment includes funding local nonprofit organizations focused on after-school tech education. We are looking for organizations with a proven track record, and offering hands-on activities, to apply for our Community Grants program.

Nonprofits can take our eligibility quiz now and prepare to apply to the Best Buy Community Grants program. The program will award a total of up to $2 million to organizations across the country. Applications will be accepted May 1 through May 19.

Programs should help teens build tech skills by using cutting-edge technology, such as computers, digital cameras, video cameras and professional software in a wide range of areas including (but not limited to):

  • Music production
  • Coding/3D printing
  • Digital photography/graphic design
  • Mobile & game app development
  • Robotics

As we serve customers in 1,400 locations across North America, it’s important for us to give back to those communities, as well. Our Community Grants program is unique because our store employees review the applications from their communities and choose awards based on their local knowledge.

The average grant amount is $5,000 and will not exceed $10,000. After filling out the eligibility quiz, organizations will receive instructions on how to apply.
