LAS VEGAS — A sea of Best Buy blue has washed over the Las Vegas desert this week.
Nearly 2,000 store managers and field leaders from across the country are gathering here this week for our annual Holiday Leadership Meeting (HLM). It’s a four-day event designed to align those leaders on plans for the holiday season and to inspire them.
“HLM is our chance to kick off the holiday [season], to really start it with a bang,” CEO Corie Barry said.
It’s our busiest time of year, and we want to make sure we’re ready to help enrich our customers’ lives through technology. We also want to make things fun for our employees.
HLM started on Tuesday and concludes on Friday. Planning for the meeting began last February.
The schedule includes:
- General session presentations from Corie and various other company leaders.
- A series of breakout sessions to go in-depth on key elements of the holiday strategy.
- A vendor show highlighting all of the latest tech products.
The theme of this year’s event is “I am Best Buy.” It’s designed to highlight that the strength of our company comes from the unique, individual contributions made by each of our 120,000 employees.
“’I am Best Buy’ is a reflection that each person who works at Best Buy has their own story,” Corie said. “They have their own reason for being here, and we really want to celebrate that, lift that up, talk about each person’s unique journey.”
