Best Buy customers expect our employees to ask the right questions and recommend the right solutions. It takes training — lots of it — to be able to provide that kind of knowledgeable service.
That’s why Best Buy offers extensive learning and development programs, in a variety of formats, for employees at all levels. Last year, our people completed nearly 20 million online learning sessions, and our classroom trainings reached more than 100,000 employees. It’s simple: Learning is part of our culture.
In light of our investment in learning and development, we’re proud to hold the No. 3 ranking for the second straight year on Training magazine’s Training Top 125, a list of the world’s most successful programs.
Our offerings range from new-hire orientation to product knowledge to leadership development. Best Buy also supports employees furthering their education outside of work through our tuition-assistance program.
This is the fourth year in a row that we ranked in the Top 10. We were No. 57 on the list in 2014.
The Training Top 125 ranking looks at a range of factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives, and their effectiveness in terms of business impact.
