24 Oct: Geek Squad Technology Hub Opens at Minnesota High School

Geek Squad is going back to school with a purpose in suburban Minneapolis.

The first-ever Geek Squad Technology Hub opened this week at Edina High School, and it will be staffed by an Agent for four hours each week who will triage devices, analyze tech problems and educate teachers and students about technology.

“Most of the youngsters in this building have grown up with technology, so they know how it works,” said Butch Cavello, a Geek Squad vice president. “What we want to do is enhance that experience to ensure they are getting the most out of their tech, and maybe they’ll teach us a thing or two.

22 Aug: Back to School 101: Turn Shopping Into Savings

Back to school. This time of year can break the bank for parents and students, especially those heading off to college for the first time. But you don’t have to spend money like it’s going out of style.

There are the obvious expenses – tuition, books and housing – and then there are tech tools like a laptop or tablet you need for class assignments. And don’t forget the gear that makes your dorm room the perfect study retreat.

These costs may seem like you’ll be eating ramen noodles forever, but don’t worry.

March Madness

19 Mar: Wanna Skip Work or School for March Madness? Here’s Your Ready (to Download) Excuse (Note)

March MadnessNo true hoops fan wants to be anywhere but on the couch Thursday and Friday for the start of March Madness.

Those first two days are arguably the best part of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament (click here to see how to watch them on all your favorite screens).

Problem is, it’s Thursday and Friday so there’s that nuisance called work or school  that could get in the way.

Relax. There’s a ready-to-use illness excuse note courtesy of Dr. Tom Ahalkjam.
