Expert health and wellness information from Mayo Clinic is now available to clients of Assured Living, Best Buy’s independent living service for seniors.
Mayo Clinic’s trusted online tools are where users can find guidance on how to manage their health concerns or find accurate health information to support their wellness goals.
Assured Living clients are now able to use the Ask Mayo Clinic online symptom assessment and Mayo Clinic online wellness assessment tools to research a broad range of health symptoms. The tools also let users better manage diet, exercise and other well-being activity. Access is available on any internet-enabled device — including computers, tablets and smartphones.
The collaboration between Best Buy and Mayo Clinic comes from increased demand for easy-to-access, expert health and wellness information.
“Today’s technology enables patients and their caregivers to actively manage their well-being, and consumers want that,” said AJ McDougall, who oversees Assured Living for Best Buy. “Both aging parents and their caregivers are especially interested in using these knowledge tools to help them lead productive, independent lives.”
That’s why Best Buy launched Assured Living. The service uses non-intrusive sensors and notifications to inform loved ones of the parent’s daily activities, such as movement and sleep patterns. It also gives elders access to the ease and convenience of the latest smart home technology, which allows them to use voice commands to help with daily activities.
The goal is to provide peace of mind for caregivers and loved ones.
Assured Living is currently available in the Minneapolis-St. Paul and Denver areas.
