Human Rights Campaign Gives Best Buy Perfect Rating

Over the last few years, Best Buy has made great strides in diversity and inclusion. But don’t just take our word for it. Today, we’ve landed a top spot on the annual Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index, achieving a perfect rating of 100 and earning the designation as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” for the 13th year.

Released annually, HRC’s Corporate Equality Index benchmarks and reports on how corporate policies and practices are helping to achieve LGBTQ workplace equality. It evaluates nondiscrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community.

This latest recognition from the HRC further affirms Best Buy’s support for LGBTQ equality and our commitment to strengthen a diverse and inclusive employee base, which are fundamental to the company’s own success.

“To support our company values and strengthen our commitment to our employees, we’ll continue to help all people pursue their passions in an engaging work environment that allows everyone to bring their whole selves to work,” said Howard Rankin, Best Buy’s chief diversity and inclusion officer. “We’ll do this by attracting and investing in talent that reflects the diversity of all communities and fostering an inclusive culture across our organization.”

Best Buy will continue to make great strides in the diversity and inclusion space through company values and initiatives, such as the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge signed by Best Buy’s Chairman and CEO Hubert Joly earlier this year.
