19 Aug: Best Buy is Proud to be Named to Fortune’s Change the World List

Best Buy is honored to be named to Fortune’s Change the World list, which recognizes companies for using their business strategy and operations to make a positive social or environmental impact. We ranked No. 32 out of 52 on the list and are one of three retail companies.

We were recognized for our leadership role in helping customers live more sustainably. Best Buy offers customers electronics and appliances that save energy and money, keeps electronics in the “use” phase longer through repair and trade-in services, and recycles electronics and appliances.

30 Jul: Best Buy named to Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index

We’re proud to announce Best Buy has been named to the 2019 Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index. We’re one of 80 companies to be honored and one of only two retailers.

The Inclusion Index recognizes our company’s efforts and commitment in the following three focus areas:

  • Fostering diversity and inclusion in recruitment, retention and advancement;
  • Promoting a company culture that values diversity and inclusion; and
  • Sharing specific demographic data and progress made in hiring, retaining and promoting women, people of color and other minority groups.

10 Jul: Best Buy Ranks 7th on Forbes List of Best Employers for Women

Best Buy is proud to be named No. 7 on the recently released Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for Women. Best Buy is one of two retailers in the top 10.

It’s a sign of our commitment to gender equality. In fact, we have a number of high-ranking women in leadership, including CEO Corie Barry; Kamy Scarlett, chief human resources officer and president of U.S. retail; Trish Walker, president of home and services; Allison Peterson, chief customer and marketing officer; and more than half of our board of directors.

29 May: Best Buy executive wins prestigious Canadian retail award

Ron Wilson, Best Buy’s president of international, received the prestigious 2019 Distinguished Canadian Retailer of the Year award from the Retail Council of Canada (RCC) on Tuesday night.

The award recognizes a retail leader who has led his or her company to outstanding business success and innovation, as well as consistently demonstrated community commitment and support.

“RCC is excited to recognize Ron Wilson for his continued success in an ever-changing retail sector, for his leadership at Best Buy Canada and for supporting schools in building students’ confidence and creativity — qualities that open doors to future possibilities,” RCC President and CEO Diane Brisebois said in a press release announcing the award.

09 May: Best Buy makes the 2019 DiversityInc Noteworthy list

New and enhanced employee benefits and community involvement helped Best Buy land a spot on the 2019 DiversityInc Noteworthy list.

The list recognizes the nation’s top companies that excel in hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBTQ and veterans. Best Buy is one of 35 companies on the list. As a company, we focus on allowing our employees to bring their whole selves to work each day.

19 Mar: Best Buy named top retail website in Mexico

Best Buy Mexico took first place in the retail category at the eCommerce Awards Mexico 2019, the country’s highest recognition for online companies.

The awards were presented by the eCommerce Institute and the Mexican Online Sales Association as part of eRetail Day Mexico on March 7. A jury of international experts chose the winners.

“We are so proud to receive this prestigious award,” said Fernando Silva, president of Best Buy Mexico. “It’s a great testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams to create a world-class, multichannel customer experience.”
