29 Jan: Raise the bar on home theater sound

TVs are getting smarter, slimmer and continue to improve picture quality. What’s not to love?

Well, truth is, you might not be getting the best audio you could right from the device.

“TVs don’t have large amplifiers, so you’re going to need to supplement that sound with a soundbar,” said Marcus Maimone, a home theater expert at the Best Buy store in Paramus, New Jersey.

Soundbars are an all-in-one speaker system designed to project high-quality sound, whether you’re watching sports, streaming a movie or binging on your favorite shows.

26 Jan: Best Buy employees share tips for a great Big Game party

When it comes to the biggest football game of the year, Best Buy knows how to make your Big Game gathering even better with the latest tech.

Check out these tips from Blue Shirts and Geek Squad Agents around the country.

What’s the most essential tech item for a great Game Day party?

In today’s world, the most essential tech for a Game Day party would be a large 4K with HDR TV, a 65-inch, 75-inch or even an 82-inch. Everyone wants that first-row seat to a game, and with a larger TV, you can experience that feeling in the comfort of your own home.

21 Dec: For $30 or less, these last-minute gifts will impress

On the hunt for stocking stuffers or last-minute gift exchange goodies that recipients will really want?

Tech often impresses, and we have a lot of options at Best Buy.

Jake Bonura, a Blue Shirt at our store in Rochester, Minnesota, recommends going with tech gifts that are one-of-a-kind, useful and not too big. Something that will get a “Wow!” when it’s pulled out of a stocking or raise eyebrows at an exchange.

“Go for something that’s in that super popular category of things that are trendy right now, like PopSockets,” said Jake, who hosts a gift swap with friends every year.

Gifts for yourself

20 Dec: Wrapping up your shopping? Don’t forget yourself

We all do it. When we’re buying last-minute gifts for friends and family, we find ourselves wishing we could keep the items in the cart.

Don’t worry. When it comes to wishful thinking, we wanted to flag some good finds that are true “treat yourself” products worth wrapping with your name on the tag. Go ahead and say they’re from your pet, Fluffy if that makes you feel better.

Personal care

Taking care of yourself is important, especially when it comes to handling stressful relatives and busy plans.
